Good reasons for an exchange semester in Dresden
Dresden is the capital of the federal state of Saxony and is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, impressive Baroque architecture and long-standing history. With more than 500,000 inhabitants, Dresden is one of the largest cities in eastern Germany and combines tradition, innovation, art and science with a vibrant modern city life. Often referred to as the “Florence on the Elbe,” the city offers numerous universities and research institutions, as well as attractive leisure and cultural activities for students and young people.
Evangelische Hochschule Dresden (ehs) has three locations: two campuses in Dresden, located just a 20-minute walk from the city’s famous Frauenkirche, and a third campus in Moritzburg, only 20 minutes of walking from the beautiful Moritzburg Castle. This unique setting allows students to enjoy both vibrant city life and the cultural and natural highlights of the surrounding area.
Dresden and Moritzburg are ideal bases for exploring the region, with destinations such as Saxon Switzerland, Meißen, the vibrant Neustadt district in Dresden and the many castles and palaces of Saxony all within easy reach.
Studying at ehs Dresden
Our University of Applied Sciences for Social Work, Education and Nursing is a small university, enabling personal contact and intensive exchange between students and teachers. Due to small study groups, you have the opportunity to get to know local students right from the beginning. Furthermore, the International Office provides close guidance throughout your stay.
As a university of applied sciences, ehs Dresden attaches great importance to practice-oriented education in order to prepare students for their future careers. Exchange students also have the opportunity to complement their studies with an internship at a social, educational or nursing institution in Dresden or Moritzburg.
