Nursing - Dual System (Bachelor of Science)
Programme profile
The study programme addresses candidates who are interested in nursing as a profession and wish to attain both a vocational training qualification and the academic degree of “Bachelor of Science” at the same time. The curriculum focuses on the requirements of everyday practice in all areas of nursing. This includes out-patient and in-patient geriatric care, nursing in hospitals and other areas of employment for nursing professionals.
On the basis of academic methods and findings, the programme teaches students the skills needed to master nursing requirements in a professional manner. Integrated into the programme are the latest knowledge and developments from nursing science as well as other related disciplines, e.g. medicine, psychology and ethics. The goal of the programme is to train nurses who will then engage directly with patients, nursing home residents or other persons in need of nursing.
Graduates are able to reflect on professional practice and develop it further for themselves. This includes applying scientific knowledge in practice and deriving research demand from practice.
There is the possibility to spend time aboard during the programme and support is available for students to undertake a study semester at one of our partner universities abroad. The ehs International Office can provide further information.
As in all study programmes at ehs Dresden there is also the possibility within the Nursing – Dual System programme to undertake advanced theological and diaconal studies.
